The Roig Academy offers an exceptional Pre-School for children from ages two through kindergarten. We provide young minds with a well rounded, exciting and enriching curriculum designed to thoroughly prepare them for the elementary years.

Early Toddlers

Early Toddlers- age 2

The journey into the Early Toddler Class is an exciting journey into a child's very first experience in a formal educational setting. Our Early Toddler Program introduces group participation. Children learn how to gather together on mats or chairs. They watch other classmates, join and imitate one another. Praise and rewards are given to our students as we build upon their self-esteem and help to develop the child as a whole.Children are introduced to listening, comprehension and expressive skills to help promote the development of language. Students watch and imitate the teachers' expressions, intonation, pitch and volume. Additionally, students are encouraged to make simple sounds, to use words, sentences and little phrases.GROUP FUN-ATTENDING and FOCUSINGOur Early Toddler Program introduces group participation. Children learn how to gather together on mats or chairs. They watch other classmates, join and imitate one another. MUSIC and SONGMusic stimulates children to make sounds, to learn new words, and to increase their rhythm. Children learn parts of simple nursery songs, rhymes, and finger plays. Students listen and respond to various sounds, tempos and beats. Toddlers enjoy singing, humming and creative vocal play. MOVEMENT and GROSS MOTORChildren need to develop their large muscles and become aware of their body position, location, and posture. We are actually exercising the students' arms and legs when their body is in motionThe young children are developing their coordination and balance with simple movement and dance routines. Our students also enjoy marching, jumping and stomping in and around obstacle courses in their classroom.ART and CREATIVITYArt helps to explore a child's creativity and artistic expression. Children discover more about colors and shapes from simple projects. Touching and feeling materials provides tactile sensations and feedback. FINE MOTOR-SMALL MUSCLESChildren develop the use of their hands and fingers for future writing We provide various exercises such as twisting, pressing, pulling and pushing. Students build structures with objects to practice coordination and balance. The class uses a variety of materials and textures to develop fine motor control.PLAY TIME and SOCIAL SKILLSChildren use toys and other objects for exploration and experimentation.Students learn new and novel ways to use materials while waiting and sharing. We are helping children to interact and communicate with other students. Toddlers play alone and with partners for different experiences.

Voyagers

Voyagers- age 3

The focus of our Voyager class is to expand oral language development and to build an awareness that prepares each and every student for success in early literacy activities during the next several years. Three year olds are at a perfect age to expand their oral language development and to explore the concepts that are the foundation for early literacy learning. As with any group of learners, three year olds vary in their physical and cognitive development.At The Roig Academy we maintain appropriate expectations, demanding neither too little nor too much of our students.Oral language is the foundation for early literacy learning, and the capacity for oral language is innate. “This is an age when language is paramount. Our Jr. Prep Class (4-year olds) follows the guidelines of the Florida VPK Education Standards. These standards are age-appropriate understandings related to the ways four-year olds think, recreate, reason, and create as they engage in the learning process.
