Bilingual classes are just the beginning.

Pre-School

Ages PreK2-4

Learning through a whole new lens.

The Roig Academy offers a preschool program for children in PreK2-4 with a focus on supporting students to acquire important learning skills for the 21st century. By nurturing students in a balanced, hands on, student centered environment, they become risk-takers, inquirers, reflective and open minded learners.

Our curriculum is designed to be delivered in a fully bilingual (Spanish), environment where the student is at the center. Through the use of current best practices in preschool education, including The Handwriting Without Tears Program, we assist students in their learning journey by supporting and strengthening introductory literacy and numeracy skills. Along with incorporating fine motor and gross motor activities, students are engaged in a sensory rich learning environment.

At The Roig Academy, your child will engage in a learning environment that promotes their intellectual, physical, and emotional wellness and prepares them to be lifelong learners in our global community.

Gold Seal Quality Care

In 1996, the Florida Legislature established the Gold Seal Quality Care program to acknowledge child care facilities and family child care homes that are accredited by approved accreditation associations and adhere to high-quality standards in the care and supervision provided to children.

The Roig Approach

Designed for each student, not all students.

At The Roig Academy, we empower, nurture, and promote student achievement in a learning environment where children feel comfortable taking risks in order to inquire, explore and reflect upon their learning. The Roig approach; Reflect, Observe, Inquire and Grow (ROIG), encourages our students to develop the necessary skills that allow them to be successful learners in our global community. Through the facilitation of this approach, our students are able to grow both personally and socially, developing 21st century skills such as collaboration, cooperation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and creative and critical thinking.

Our approach is unique in its commitment to bringing a global emphasis to our core curriculum and developing a strong community of learners that value lifelong learning. At The Roig Academy, our staff teach to the whole child by engaging in ongoing teacher collaboration and use differentiated instructional techniques that are supported by current and best practices in teaching and learning. These various teaching strategies allow us to foster the development of the whole child encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs as well as academic welfare.

At The Roig Academy, each child’s unique social, physical, emotional, cultural and academic welfare is nurtured in a supportive learning community. Individualized academic goals which address areas of interest and academic strengths and needs are regularly monitor and assessed with input from our multidisciplinary team, which includes the child.

Parent Voices

First and foremost, we would like to thank Mrs. Roig and her staff for the outstanding job they did with the education of our son. He attended The Roig Academy for PreK-4 and Kindergarten. The individual attention and instruction provided by the teachers helped our son surpass any expectations we had of him. He has completed kindergarten, performing well beyond the 1st grade level. The attentive staff allowed a sense of ease for us, as new parents, entrusting someone else with the well-being of our first child. We decided to move him to public school; this is no negative reflection on The Roig Academy, rather to offer him a much larger social environment. After the first couple of weeks of school, his new teacher called our home to compliment the education he had received thus far. She mentioned that the school he came from did an excellent job when it came to his academics, socialization, helpfulness, but most of all his respectfulness. Even though our son has moved on, a piece of him will always remain with The Roig Academy. We highly recommend this school to any new parent. While it may be a small and quaint school, it is filled with giant hearts and caring teachers!

After five years, my daughter is leaving The Roig Academy, and it is bittersweet. Bitter because she will be leaving a supportive and encouraging environment that gave her the confidence and tools she needs to succeed, and sweet because I am excited for her new challenge. We are eternally grateful to The Roig Academy for providing such a wonderful learning environment for my daughter, starting with the teachers who personify patience all the way to the administration which is active in the development of every child as if that child were their very own. Thank you for your guidance, support and encouragement! We will miss you!

Our daughter had a wonderful experience at Roig Academy and we have the director, Jenni Roig, and teachers to thank for their support in her academic and personal development. Through Roig’s individual attention and tailored instruction, low student to teacher ratio, and director’s commitment and involvement in the success of each child, our daughter was able to close her academic gaps and practice learning strategies. The director and teachers are always accessible and partner with the child’s family in developing the “whole” (academic, social, emotional) student. More than anything else, our daughter leaves Roig Academy with the self-confidence to face challenges and succeed. Highly recommend.

Grateful to write this review this school has brought our son and my family happiness! It’s been a long road but there is light at the end of the tunnel! Ms. Jenny & Mr. Gus, Ms. Elena and all teachers and staff love our son. They help him everyday reach his potential with love & compassion. Everyday their passion and love to help nourish his growth. They know how to bring out the best in him. We are grateful that we found Roig Academy.

My son just graduated from The Roig Academy and after 3 years, it is so sad having to say goodbye. Thanks to the great teachers and administration, Andres is more than prepared for Kindergarten. We will miss you all but look forward to seeing you again soon. Definitely enrolling my newborn daughter when it’s her time to start preschool. The Roig family provided an amazing and unforgettable experience for us!

I highly recommend this school to any parent seeking a first-class experience in early education for their child. My son attended the preschool program at The Roig Academy from K-2 through K-4 and I’m extremely pleased with the quality of education he has received. The director works very closely with the teachers and staff to provide a fun & safe learning environment. They provided a challenging curriculum which incorporated the importance of the student’s need to thrive socially as well as academically. The teachers and the staff were all very attentive and nurturing. Overall this is truly a great school filled with wonderful people and I’m grateful that my son encountered such a positive preschool experience.

I sent my 4 year old to this school for the summer program. I wanted an academic experience during the summer, not just fun and sports. I left so impressed that I will return for the full year enrollment. Although my son at 4 can read, write, add and subtract (due to private turoring 4 hours a week), the full time students there are actually MORE advanced than him. Impressive. They emphasize structure and disciplined learning which few other Pre-K’s or K’s do. It’s a small school with a low student to teacher ratio. The principal knows the students by name and also their individual strengths and weaknesses. She’s very aware which areas they are advancing in and which need help. Highly recommend.

The Roig Academy is a wonderful little school. My oldest son started there when he was 3 years old in their summer camp program. I was so impressed with the work he was bringing home that I enrolled him in the full time school year program. He left pre-k reading, and well ahead of his peers, he excelled in kindergarten and is now in the gifted program. My youngest just finished his first year in the two year old program- he is also excelling. The Roig academy has a very warm enviroment where the Director is extremely hands on and very intelligent, caring and welcoming. All the staff is friendly and know all the children. It feels like a family. I could not ask for a better place for my children to start their education. I know they will be well taken care of, happy and very prepared for kindergarten. school. My children also engaged in some great afterschool activites such as soccer, spanish and tennis. I highly recommend this school.
